Five Reasons I Don’t Take Risks

The WP Daily Post word prompt today is Risky

What in the world am I going to do with the word, RISKY. Phrases like Go with God, Proceed with caution, Be careful—these are my mantras. I don’t jump out of windows.

I don’t yearn to run with the bulls and I don’t gamble away hard-earned dollars. When we go to Las Vegas, I know exactly how much I’m going to lose. After I lose, I’m fine tagging along, drinking and eating. No going out on a limb for this girl. Getting on the I-94 Expressway is enough of a risk for me. So, I considered my cowardice and came up with 10 reasons that I combined into five.

I don’t take risks because:

  1. I may lose my life—my money—my love
  2. I may break something on my body
  3. I may be the only one who actually goes through with it (you know how people are)
  4. I’ll give the impression that I’m impulsive—crazy—foolish
  5. The risk might not be worth the sacrifice

If you’re reading this away from home, call me when you’re done so that I know you’re safe!

  1. Thanks Linda, I don’t even risk going to a casino – I think I could have a secret gambling gene – don’t want to risk getting it activated. 🙂 Thanks for this lovely tongue-in-cheek discussion – very enjoyable. Maretha Botha

  2. LOL! That was fun, Linda.
I’m not much of a risk taker either. And like you, if I hit a casino, I know exactly how much I intend to lose. I’m happy just tagging along and looking at all the bright lights and glitter 🙂

  3. I liked this word Risky and the picture…perfect. I laughed out loud that you just don’t jump out of windows. Sometimes I think we almost need to make that a rule…just in case. Yes, I can tend to be on the careful side, except that I took a risk and started writing safely sitting at home of course:)
