The Choice: Blog Tour
Neurologist/psychiatrist Viktor Frankl experienced the worst of life when he was a victim of the Holocaust. Through that devasting experience, he emerged claiming that “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
In THE CHOICE, we travel with characters as they choose their way. Some are heroic, others not so. The challenges may be unique to the characters, but the situations they face are familiar to all of us. They must choose whether to be generous or self-centered, loving or hateful, courageous or cowardly.
In the scene below, a student asks the character, Julie, “Why are you risking your life to meet with us?”
Julie wipes a tear from her eyes and glances at the admiral. “Some things are worth more than a life. Brad and Sarah proved this to me. Their love continues, powerfully. It brought all of us together, didn’t it? Two people who loved and chose truth can change how we see. Their message reverberates across the globe. When I read the evidence, I couldn’t remain silent, because the whole world needs to know. We don’t move forward by ignoring a dangerous cabal. We move forward by facing the truth courageously.”
Growing up in Southern California, Gwen Plano loved learning. She earned four degrees and taught and served in universities and colleges across the country and in Japan. Now retired, she is focused on writing. Gwen’s first book, Letting Go into Perfect Love, is a memoir. Her second book, The Contract, is a thriller co-authored by John W. Howell. Gwen lives in the Midwest with her husband, and when she is not writing, she is traveling, usually to see one of her four children and many grandchildren.
